Alassos Wedding Venue, Paphos: Is This Your Perfect Cyprus Wedding Venue?

If your idea of a Cyprus wedding involves saying your vows with the Mediterranean stretching out in front of you, cocktails surrounded by greenery and dinner beneath a canopy of fairy lights, Alassos is certainly a venue worth discovering.

Located along the coastal road between Paphos and Coral Bay, Ktima Alassos is a private wedding and events venue created specifically for celebrations. One of the things I particularly love about it is that the different parts of the wedding day flow naturally from one space to another, while still giving each part of the celebration its own atmosphere. The venue is an exclusive fully private venue where you can party up to 1 am.

Sometimes photographs simply aren’t enough when you’re choosing a destination wedding venue from another country. That’s exactly why I created my Finding Your Perfect Cyprus Venue series — to take you inside some of Cyprus’s beautiful wedding venues and help you imagine what your own celebration could look like there.

The ceremony

The ceremony area is undoubtedly one of Alassos’s signature features. Guests look towards the Mediterranean while the couple exchanges their vows, creating that unmistakable destination-wedding feeling without actually having to hold the ceremony on the sand.

The longer walk towards the aisle also creates a beautiful sense of anticipation for the entrance — and, from a photography and videography perspective, gives your team some wonderful opportunities to capture the moment.

Cocktails by the Mediterranean

After the ceremony, guests can move into the reception garden for drinks and canapés while the newlyweds take a little time for photographs.

I always look carefully at this transition when assessing a wedding venue. A beautiful ceremony location is wonderful, but the flow of the entire day matters just as much. You don’t want guests wondering where they should go next or having to travel between several locations unnecessarily.

Dinner under the stars

As daylight begins to soften, the venue transforms again. Long banquet tables or romantic round tables, abundant florals and candles topped up with elegant massive chandeliers or something completely minimal — the reception space gives couples plenty of opportunity to make the setting their own.

And then there are the fairy lights. ✨

Once darkness falls, they completely change the atmosphere and create that relaxed, romantic Mediterranean feeling that so many couples imagine when they start dreaming about a destination wedding in Cyprus.

What I love about Alassos as a wedding planner?

For me, one of Alassos’s biggest strengths is privacy combined with the sea view. You’re not celebrating on a hotel terrace with other holidaymakers walking past your wedding; the venue is specifically designed around the wedding celebration itself.

I also love that the day has a natural progression — ceremony, cocktails, dinner and then the evening celebration — without guests having to leave the venue.

And because the setting already has such a strong Mediterranean identity, you don’t necessarily need to overwhelm it with décor. The sea, greenery, sunset and fairy lights can already do a lot of the work for you.

Could Alassos be your perfect Cyprus venue?

Choosing a destination wedding venue from hundreds or thousands of kilometres away can feel overwhelming. Beautiful photographs are important, but understanding how a venue actually works — its location and capacity, how your guests move through it, where dinner takes place, where the sun sets, if it has a contingency plan in place for you, how it can be styled and whether it fits the experience you want to create — is what ultimately helps you make the right decision.

That’s the idea behind my Finding Your Perfect Cyprus Venue series. If you’re considering Alassos — or you’re still trying to find the Cyprus venue that feels completely you — I’d love to help you discover it and create the celebration around it.
